I’m so excited to share that I’ve started a new workout, and I am LOVING it. We just got a Burn Boot Camp in Houston, and the location happened to be less than 10 minutes from my house so I figured I would give it a try. I’ve been doing it for about a month so far, and I am really liking the intensity of the workouts!
To be completely honest, it was not an easy decision for me to commit to doing this workout. I was a member of a gym that I loved so it was going to take a lot for me to leave that gym. I loved the classes offered at my gym, the childcare, and the people. It really felt like family, and I was starting to see great results.
So WHY change something that I was so happy with?!
In January of 2017, I started doing a boot camp class at my gym and instantly fell in love with this type of workout. The instructor was great and within a few months I had lost weight and started to see tone that I hadn’t seen in a long time (thanks to having a baby! :)) Well, in May, that instructor left and the replacement wasn’t nearly as motivitating, and I felt like I was not getting as good of workouts in, and my body was feeling it.
My routine at the time was boot camp classes twice a week, body pump (my first gym class love) twice a week, and then something like TRX or spin. It was a good routine, but once the great boot camp instructor left, I was struggling to get excited about my weekly workouts.
THEN, I started seeing these Facebook posts for this BURN BOOT CAMP that was coming to Houston, and I started following them on Facebook and Instagram to see more of what their workouts were about! They looked pretty intense, and I was super excited for them to open their doors!
They opened in early November and within a few weeks I canceled my other gym membership and signed a six month contract with BURN! While I am super excited about this decision, it is hard knowing that I won’t be doing body pump or working out with my other gym friends for at least six months, or maybe ever again!
I’ve been doing Burn for about a month, and I am starting to become obsessed! I can’t wait to share with y’all more about the workouts, how I’m hoping to start working out in the mornings BEFORE work (instead of after), and my results. My arms hurt ask I’m typing this because … well did lots of pull-ups a few days ago and still feeling them!! Gotta love that feeling!
Have you changed your workout routine lately?! Are you wanting to try something new but scared of getting out of your comfort zone? Would love to hear from you!
